If you are looking to relax as well as get the attention on a certain area of discomfort, an hour session is recommended. In an hour session, your therapist is able to give specific treatment to areas of concern, as well as being able to give attention the back,legs, neck, scalp, shoulders, arms, hands and feet. Will I be sore after a massage? Often times clients, especially those that don't receive massage regularly, will experience some areas of discomfort the following day. This is often times in conjunction with the toxins that are being released after the massage. This is why is it of utmost importance that a client comes to the massage session hydrated and continue drinking extra water the day of and the day after a massage. Also, applying ice to the area will aid in lessening the soreness. Communication between the client and therapist at all times will also benefit the client in making this experience the most enjoyable possible. Am I able to get a massage even though I'm pregnant? Moms-to-be need massage. With their rapidly changing body, the pressure a woman feels on her lower back and sciatic nerve pain can be excruciating. Of course we recommend consulting your physician before beginning any massage. How often should I get a massage? There is no such thing as too many massages. Depending on the reason that you are looking to receive massage therapy, this is something that you can discuss with your therapist. If it is an injury that you are looking to relieve pain from, it may be recommended that you receive several treatments in a short period of time and then gradually lessen your visits. For maintenance, then weekly, bi-monthly or even monthly may be the regime that works for you. None knows your body like you do, and therefore you need to know what treatment schedule works for you. Massage is known to reduce stress, increase circulation, increase energy, increase metabolism, reduce scar tissue, decrease pain, decrease anxiety, increase relaxation and many other benefits that are individually experienced.
